The Haii village is a a small town located on the border between England and wales. With the world’s biggest second-hand bookstore, it is a paradise for bibliophiles. The village’s history as a book town started from April Fool’s day in 1977. At that time, bibliophile Richard Booth announced the village become ” Kingdom of books”. Since then, tourism based on the book here has been thriving, and every year thousands of tourists come here to find books they need.
This village’s first book store opened in 1961. and in a few years time, Buildings here were filled with books, including waste warehouse, churches, or even the castle. Every year, this village sells more than a million books. Books of all kinds are available.
In fact, before the implementation of Richard Booth’s bold ideas, the village has been developing very slowly, with a population of only 2000 and no real economical sources. Now
It has become a scenic spot and 10 percent of its population work in the book industry, which benefit the local industry a lot.
